Project TwoOh14 (working title)

I've begun! In my last post I mentioned that I want to challenge myself to be more actively creative. For one hour a day (at least 5 times a week) I will engage in something creative, active, spirit-revving. So far I have been: doodling like my life depended on it (too dramatic?), playing cello, sewing holiday gifts, researching exercise options and reading new to me graphic novels. Now none of these things are ground shaking, I know, but it is a great start me thinks!
Thanks for staying tuned in to Pink Velvet Bird, I'm excited to see where this new year takes us!

New Year...New Project! TwoOh14

OK, I'm gonna shake shake shake this artist funk! I work long hours 4 days a week and after I get home, walk the dog, feed the rest of the herd, find something to eat and then do the dishes I generally just plop in front of some cartoons and get up and do it all again. Weekends seem to be full of travel, freelancing,  household errands and putzing around. I need to refresh my creative engine! I'm not one that really gets involved in New Year's resolutions but I figure that starting this renewal project in January is a great way to track my progress, no?

I'll keep posting my progress here...hopefully if I feel like there's an audience I'll be more motivated to keep on track. I want to be able to do something creative, inspired, positive, and healthy for an hour each day. Now let's be honest...EACH DAY? Well, how about 5 out of 7 and if I get 6 or 7 hours in a week I'll give myself an extra high five. Sound good? Great!

Feelin' Like a Winner!

Here is my entry into SoulShine Studio's latest contest. SS S is a fabu beading shop/class workshop in Corning, NY on East Market St. Stop by and be inspired. Also, make sure to say Hi to Gemma, the lovely in house birdy :)

I just found out today that I won the contest! Yippppeeee! So super honored!

We were given a selection of beads and could add other components as we wished. I burned and stacked the fabric "flowers", created the dangles (including one on the back for extra Bazinga!) and sewed the flowers to the chain. I plan to wear it on my upcoming cruise the Bermuda!

What do you think? Totally a statement, wouldn't you say?

I can't wait until the next challenge at SoulShine!
